A yearly program that aims to support a Portuguese person working in a creative field to stay and develop personal work while in Japan.
Applicants should present a detailed work plan and goals for the stay.
At the end of the Residency Program, the work will be displayed to the public at the Embassy of Portugal in Tokyo.

Candidates must send the documentation indicated in the Regulations and, if they have any questions, contact the organization during this period.
The winning application will be selected by a jury made up of all organizing entities, taking into account the CV, portfolio, work plan proposal and how it fits with the characteristics of the Creative Residency program.
The Artistic Director will contact the winning applicant to introduce the program and set the expectations for the creative residency and share any information that may be helpful for the stay.
The Participant will develop the defined work plan during the stay.
The outcome can take tangible or intangible form, but an exhibition or event at the Embassy will take place at the end of the Residency Program to present the work.
Paradise AIR is an Artist-in-residence institution highly regarded in Japan as an intermediary organization for culture and the arts. Located in Matsudo, is conveniently close to yet comfortably removed from the bustle of central Tokyo.
The program is held on the vacant floors of a former love hotel above the Rakuen pachinko parlor (a pinball-gambling establishment) that occupies the bottom floors of the building.
The participant will have one room with a private bathroom.
Equipped with air-conditioner, a table with chair, a single bed and access to a shared kitchen, washing machine, dryer machine and fridge.
Nearby there are supermarkets, convenience stores, bars and restaurants.
And easy access to public transportation.
Matsudo now serves as a midpoint between downtown Tokyo and Narita International Airport, and as a result has grown from a rest stop between Tokyo and Mito into a city connecting Tokyo to the rest of the world. Thus, PARADISE AIR serves as a point of transit for traveling artists from all around the world in order to foster a new artistic crossroads for the benefit all those who pass through Matsudo.
